Thanks to all our attendees for helping us raise a nice sum of money for the protection of the escarpment. We are a long way from our goal as we work our way towards the Ontario Municipal Board hearing in October and every little bit helps.
Our vendors had a great day too! We sold out of Trillium Meadows Boar and Deer Sausages, Echo Marché sold out of jams, and what is the best for jam? Homemade bread of which Imogen catering sold out of by mid afternoon.
Local artists and writers where on hand to show off their creations. Children ‘AND’ adults enjoyed a bit of face painting and rock painting. A great time was had by all at the fishing game and recycle bottle toss if the hoots and hollers were any indication.
We learned a lot more on the history of the area with a fabulous display of old photographs and history. An old timer from the region spoke to the audience on the early days of Jessup’s Falls. Some more technical information on the composition of the region was supplied by the University of Ottawa.
There was something for everyone and we all had a great time. Thank you to all our sponsors, vendors and volunteers. And a special thanks to all who attended.
