Cake wars! Live Auction
Top off your evening with a sweet treat. Local auctioneer Guy Bissonette will be helping us by auctioning off some local favourites. Local chefs will be preparing some fabulous deserts for auction. Chef Bruce Wood (Culinary Consulting), baker and pastry chef Louay Ben Messaoud (currently at Bergerie des Sables and Beau’s beer) and caterer Imogen from Catstone farms who is also an EscarpAction committee member, will each be baking one of their favourites for auction. Place 19-67 is donating one of Mme Chenier’s famous raspberry pies. The auction also includes an epicurean delight dinner invitation, Gift baskets from OGenêt, Tim Hortons and Maple syrup from Érablière Maree Sugarbush and a beautiful wood mirror from the DelJu sawmill.
An EscarpAction goal is to promote local businesses. This includes the many talented local artists and artisans of our region! Local artists have donated works of art that you can purchase through a silent auction.
Many beautiful pieces of art and artisana will be for sale: Local scenes painted on canvas by Linda Paquette and Tina Petrovicz, custom wood furniture from Francois Delorme and wood sculpture by Francois Gour.
There is also a rare opportunity to purchase a work of art by renowned local artist Pierrette Dulude-Bohay who passed away 2 years ago. Sketches of local scenes will be for sale in the silent auction or you can bid on prints of one of her famous chicken paintings. She loved her studio below the escarpment and painting the trees and old barns of our region was one of the greatest pleasures of her life. The Bohay family would like to commemorate the protection of the escarpment through the release of a these sketches.
